Honda doesn’t play but wants AC Milan contract extension

The future of Keisuke Honda is up in the air with the Japan International who has only played 18 minutes in seven Serie A games so far and the situation doesn’t seem to become any better in the near future.

With his contract expiring in June 2017, Honda can move to a new club from the beginning of the next season finding agreement with a new club from January 2017.

We had already reported that three MLS clubs have made contact with Honda’s entourage, though Valencia are also interested.

Honda, however, does not consider any alternative but staying at AC Milan, at least for the moment. The Japanese winger wants to convince Vincenzo Montella to give him more game time.

“Honda is the natura back-up of Suso”, AC Milan’s coach said last week.

“However, we are also trying to play him on the left flank”

With M’Baye Niang, however, who is blazing a trail in that part of the pitch, it is pretty unlikely that Honda will have more chances to play on the left rather than on the right.

Should the rossoneri not extend his contract, Honda would prefer to move to the MLS rather than joining Valencia.
