Milan v Fiorentina – Team Comparison OPTA Stats & Facts

Milan have racked up two points more than tomorrow’s rivals Fiorentina in the last six Serie A games.

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side drew their last away league game against Roma and Fiorentina faced 3-1 home defeat to Lazio last week-end.

Mihajlovic, who sat on Fiorentina’s bench from 2010 until 2011 is walking on this ice at San Siro as the Rossoneri sit 10 points behind a Champions League placement.

On the other hand, Paulo Sousa’s side are only one point short of Europe’s most elite tournament qualification.

Fiorentina are  unbeaten at San Siro against Milan in Serie A games since 20 November 2010, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goal sealed the last Rossoneri home victory against the Tuscans. Milan have faced three losses and two draws since then.

No doubt that the spotlight will be on Carlos Bacca and Nikola Kalinic during tomorrow evening’s clash. The Colombia International has netted eight goals in Serie A so far, while the Croatian hit-man has 10 in 19 games. Josip Ilicic has also been impressive having plundered 9 goals.

Milan’s second best scorer is Giacomo Bonaventura with four goals, while Luiz Adirano netted three before joining Chinese side Jiangsu Suning this week.

Rossoneri will face Empoli away next week, before facing Inter at the end of the month, while La Viola will host Torino on January 24, before meeting Genoa away.
