Milan: message from de Jong. Juve: chance for Gerrard
As reported earlier today, AC Milan are keen on Liverpool midfielder Suso and on two left backs: the rossoneri are also seeking a new forward, and, according to gianlucadimarzio.com, are interested –as well as Juventus- in 23-year-old Grégoire Defrel, currently in co-ownership between Parma and Cesena, and playing for the bianconeri. In the mid time, the Lombard club will have to deal with the situation of 29-year-old defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong, whose contract will expire at the end of the current season: during an event held today at Milan’s headquarter, the Holland international has been quite elusive about the negotiations to extend his deal, but has outlined that he is very happy at “San Siro” and that there shouldn’t be any problems regarding his new contract; the former Manchester City player has also assured that the whole team is together with its coach Filippo Inzaghi. Also Juventus are dealing with the situation of some players who could become free-agents at the end of the season, like 27-year-old attacking midfielder Sebastian Giovinco: according to La Stampa, the Italy international remains the main target for city rivals Torino, despite his extremely high salary. On the other hand, the bianconeri could have a chance to sign 34-year-old midfielder Steven Gerrard, who has not yet extended his deal with Liverpool and has declared that he doesn’t want to retire.
