Milan: Kovacic in pole to strengthen the midfield

Vincenzo Montella has arrived at Milan and the transfer window has now really opened for the rossoneri. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that General Manager Adriano Galliani has midfield reinforcements at the top of his shopping list with Kovacic, Paredes and Zielinski the main protagonists.

Galliani has an optimum rapport with Real Madrid supremo Florentine Perez and the possibility of capturing 22-year-old Kovacic is a very real possibility. The former Inter man has failed to hold down a first-team place at the Bernabeu and a return to Serie A could be imminent. The rossoneri has a similar relationship with Roma and for this reason; Leandro Paredes remains in the mirror. With Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski things are a little different; Napoli still remain favourites to land the 22-year-old and ecent reports suggest a deal is close. Another name in the frame is Sampdoria’s Roberto Soriano but the player at the top of the list remains Kovacic.
