Milan fans call into question Montolivo contract extension
The team’s captain Riccardo Montolivo played one of the worst games of the season against last-placed Verona as he was substituted and booed.
The former Fiorentina man is the player who recovered the most balls in Serie A thus far, although he failed to make good quality passes, something that’s supposed to be quite a priority for every playmaker. Add to it that Montolvio register only one assist this term and it become quite clear that the 30-year-old can’t be considered a cornerstone of Milan’s future.
Circumstances given, it is difficult to understand Milan’s decision to extend Montolivo’s stay at San Siro for three more years, like if the player’s performances are not taken into account before making such an important decision for the club’s future.
