The first Milan derby of the season is set to take place before a ball has been kicked with both clubs eyeing up Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala. The 25-year-old Frenchman does not figure in the plans of new coach Pep Guardiola and the Spanish tactician has excluded him from his Champions League squad. The player’s agent is the powerful Jorge Mendes and he has reportedly already offered his client to Valencia, Milan and, as today’s Tuttosport claims, Inter. The Premier League side are open to an initial loan-deal with a view to a permanent move; this will appeal to both Milan clubs and a summer derby looks to be in the making.
