Milan, Bacca like Bertolacci: if he stays, he will play

Milan, Bacca like Bertolacci: if he stays, he will play

Carlos Bacca locks the transfer market of Milan. The Colombian striker seems destined to remain at the club since the clubs who showed positive interest in signing him, West Ham and PSG, have already strengthened their respective forward lines. The 29-year-old continues to train at Milanello however, on the strict instructions of boss Vincenzo Montella.

    NOT THINKING OF FAREWELL
Bacca for his part is not thinking about a possible farewell. He’s remained professional despite being exiled from the rest of the squad for their recent US tour. He’s now been re-acquainted with the rest of the team on their arrival back in Italy.

    HE MUST PLAY
Montella has been experimenting in the States on a team without Bacca; yet if the Colombian remains at the club beyond August 31, the coach will be forced to have to include him in the starting XI after paying €33 million for him last summer. If Bacca continues scoring this season like he did last, his market value will grow and this can only be good news for a future sale.

    LIKE BERTOLACCI, ONLY IN ATTACK
Bacca’s scenario is similar to that of midfielder Andrea Bertolacci who arrived at the club last summer for €21 million and will also be a regular starter under Montella for the very same reasons stated above. The difference for Bacca however, is that competition for places up-front, is stronger than that in the rossoneri midfield.
