Mihajlovic: 'I never thought Milan were going to fire me"

AC Milan are going through a positive period, and, as reported earlier, they could confirm their first team’s head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic for the next season too. The Serbian tactician told Rai Sport: “I like the challenges, I am always self-confident. We had some difficult moments, but I remained calm. In the last 20 games we lost just two times. Why it took so long to find the right formation? I wanted to do things in the right way. After the game against Napoli I decided to change formation, when Menez will come back, I may recover the 4-2-3-1”.

“Did I fear to be sacked? I never cross the bridges before I come to them” he added. “As somebody said, there fired coaches and coaches who are going to be fired. I’m in great terms with Berlusconi, I admire him. Sometimes we have different opinions, but he always shows respect for what I do. We both want to bring Milan to where it belongs”.

Regarding Stephan El Shaarawy, Mihajlovic said: “He’s a very nice guy, he decided to join AS Roma to become again a star in Italy. We are all happy for him, even because he’s still a Milan player. If he keeps on playing this way, he may even get a chance for the national team. The future? I don’t know what will happen, we’ll see”.
