Miha, Milan squad to report to Berlusconi on Friday

Oh dear, Sinisa Mihajlovic is in trouble again.

Having presciently declared before his team's 1-0 away defeat to rivals Juventus on Saturday night that "if we ever draw or lose, we're immediately in trouble", the Serbian coach had come under fire once more from president Silvio Berlusconi and vice-president Adriano Galliani.

The Milanese stalwarts were less angry at the defeat, and more at their team's perceived lack of fight after Paulo Dybala's winner. The Rossoneri have now lost four games out of five against European-level opponents (that's Juve, Inter, Fiorentina and Napoli), prompting Berlusconi and Galliani to demand a meeting with coach and team on Friday.

Officially, Berlusconi and co will visit Milanello on Friday to meet with their sponsors, but this little chat has been pencilled in for two very good reasons.

Firstly, it will come the day before Milan face Sampdoria in what is an increasingly important game for Mihajlovic, which coincidentally comes against his former team.

Secondly, Friday will be the first time since the team was introduced to the press early on that all three of the club's big names will be present at the same time. With Barbara Berlusconi joining rival Adriano Galliani and her father at Milanello, the message will be there for all to see.

The former Italian prime minister will ask his players to show more pluck. Mihajlovic, for his part, is not at risk of being fired in the near future, something unusual for his time here so far.

However, his boss will likely insist on him playing two strikers, thus bringing in Luiz Adriano, whose arrival during the summer has yet to herald a revolution up front for the Rossoneri.

Miha won't be fired for losing this weekend, but may well do if Sampdoria don't close out the year with a positive streak of results.

Before they can even focus on the Blucerchiati, however, Milan need to avoid looking silly against Inter and Bari in Tuesday night's three-way friendly at Bari's San Nicola Stadium.

Berlusconi was very peeved by his team losing an earlier friendly against their Nerazzurri cousins, in an exhibition game named after his late father, Luigi.
