Messi to Inter - Here's the plan of Suning
Messi to Inter in 2018 when his current contract expires in Barcelona; this is the dream of new owners The Suning Group who want to convince the Argentine superstar to head to Serie A as part of their plans to build a “super-team”.
Before Messi however there’s other top level targets on the radar; Colombian James Rodriguez of Real Madrid and Arsenal’s Chilean star Alexis Sanchez and from a playing point of view, a return to the Champions League. The next summer campaign will see the nerazzurri push to bring Verratti (PSG) back to Italy and one between Berardi (Sassuolo), Bernardeschi (Fiorentina), Marquinhos (PSG), Lindelof (Benfica) or Acerbi (Sassuolo).
This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport lists 10 motives why it’s possible to bring arguably the world’s greatest player to Inter:
1. The ambitions of the Suning Group
2. The pride of the interista
3. To break San Siro attendance records
4. Messi’s signing would attract other big names
5. Zanetti is the Argentine’s warranty
6. The discontent at Barcelona: all their big stars will look for new clubs
7. The history between the two clubs for example; Luisito Suarez, Eto’o and Ronaldo
8. More investment from sponsors and a huge marketing potential
9. The thrust from Pirelli
10. Checkmate on city rivals Milan
