Argentine striker Maxi Lopez has been regularly linked to Milan over the past few weeks and Catania seemed favourable to a loan deal which would see Maxi replacing Antonio Cassano in Rossonero.

 

However, President Antonino Pulvirenti made it clear that the Rossoblu have received no offer so far and this deal may only be unreal.

 

“I heard a lot about Milan but it may just be an illusion for Maxi,” said Pulvirenti. “The Rossoneri want to win both in Italy and Europe and they will be looking at players like Carlos Tévez and Didier Drogba. I hope Lopez will not be only a dreamer…” 

 

Coach Vincenzo Montella also claimed that Lopez is still in his plans: “I will keep on playing him from the start or as a substitute. For me these rumours are no trouble”.
