Mauro Icardi vs. Edin Dzeko
The Bosnia and Herzegovina hit-man was supposed to solve Roma’s attacking woes following his € 17 million move from Manchester City. Dzeko is twisting and turning to justify his price-tag having only netted one goals against the hated rivals Juventus during Serie A day 2.
On the other hand Mauro Icardi is doing just a little better than his fellow Roma striker as the Argentinean has plundered three goals in nine games. The former Sampdoria has a scoring rate of one goal every 283.3 minutes played, while Dzeko has netted only one in 596.
Dzeko’s lack of goals seems not to influence too much Rudi Garcia’s side as Roma have the best Serie A attack with 25 goals in ten matches. The 29 year can’t even blame his team-mates for not involving him in attacking actions as Dzeko has already dueled 98 times with the opponent defenders winning only 45 (45.9%). He has registered 12 shots on target and 9 off it.
On the contrary, Icardi’s struggles in front of goal undoubtedly depend on Inter serving him too poorly. The Argentinean was involved in only 55 duels up front managing to win 27, nearly the 50%. The 22 year old complaints for his lack of involvement are justified as he converted five shots on target into three goals.
