Mario Gomez is stuck between a rock and a hard place
Mario Gomez is set to be the centre of a summer transfer saga.
The Besiktas striker has no intention of returning to Turkey, a league he does not believe to be worthy of his skills. A pity, because his 25 goals for Besiktas haven’t gone unnoticed, with hated inter-city rivals Fenerbahce also trying to nab his services.
It hasn’t been easy for Fiorentina, either: whilst they don’t look like they have plans for the German to stay in their squad, they don’t want him to leave on a free. Director of sport Pantaleo Corvino wants at least €6 million for him.
