Marina Berlusconi confirms that not one single penny of AC Milan’s sale is going to the club

Silvio Berlusconi’s son Marina, chairwoman of Fininvest Group, has released an interview with economic newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore confirming that funds of AC Milan’s sale are not going to the club but to the family’s holding company Fininvest instead.

“We are more solid now. It was a difficult decision to take, but it’s going to have a positive impact. The € 740 million will improve a situation which is already positive allowing us [Fininvest] not to lose € 100-150 million each year. This sale makes Fininvest much more solid.”

Marina Berlusconi’s statement means AC Milan are not allowed to use one single penny of the sale of the club as the entire sum is going to Fininvest. Adriano Galliani has just € 15 million available on the transfer market (which is the deposit paid by new owners) and still needs to sell either Carlos Bacca or Mattia De Sciglio to free up enough cash for new recruits.
