Marcos Alonso: I'm close to extending with Fiorentina
With international duties taking their toll, the former Sunderland man confirmed that he will put pen to paper on a new agreement with the Tuscan side very soon.
“We took the right path, I am very close to signing a new contract with the club. My dad is taking care of the negotiations, I am only focused on playing.”
The 24-year-was recently ruled out due to a muscle injury, but he made his comeback coming off the bench in Fiorentina's last away game versus Sampdoria.
“I am happy to be back. I missed being in games so much, and after the international break I will be at my best. Being Serie A leaders is amazing, now we need to carry on working with humility and think about the next game against Empoli.”
“I am not thinking about a senior Spain national team call-up, but I am working to make it happen.”
