Juventus, Marchisio set to start Sampdoria clash

Juventus playmaker Claudio Marchisio is very likely to start tonight’s Sampdoria clash at the J Stadium. The 30-year-old midfielder had been out of action for six months due to a serious knee injury which also forced him to skip Euro 2016 with Italy national team last summer.

Tonight, Marchisio is set to start the first game in six months. He spent the last three games of the Old Lady sitting on the bench, but the Italy International is now ready to return to action.

Miralem Pjanic and Mario Lemina are also set to start in midfield tonight, with Marchisio who is expected to start over Hernanes in the regista role in front of defence.

Juventus have only lost two games out of 58 (45W, 11D) with Marchisio in the pitch in the last two seasons, losing eight games out of 27 (1tW and 2D) when the 30-year-old midfielder was not deployed at all.
