Marcelino set to become new Inter manager

Former Villareal boss Marcelino is in pole position to become the next manager of Inter, calciomercato.com’s reporter Pasquale Guarro claims.

The 51-year-old boss has jumped to front of the queue after a meeting with Inter representatives on Friday evening. New club’s owners Suning are also said to have met Stefano Pioli before Marcelino who is now the leading candidate for the Inter job.

Guarro also claims that Marcelino is currently having a meeting with powerful players’ agent Kia Joorabchian who is the right-hand man of Suning, having sealed the transfer of Joao Mario and having suggested Frank De Boer as a replacement for Roberto Mancini last August.
Joorabchian and Marcelino are having a meeting in Milan’s city centre, while Pioli is said to have returned to his hometown Parma after the end of his meeting with Suning. Guss Hiddink has reportedly rejected Inter’s offer, whilst Suning have not considered Francesco Guidolin’s candidacy.

Inter are expected to announce the name of their new manager tomorrow, but in this moment, Marcelino is the most likely to get the Inter job.
