Mancini-Inter, renewal or chaos
Three days to say yes, three days to find an agreement, put all the discontent behind them and restart. La Gazzetta Sportiva reports that Roberto Mancini’s future will be decided in the next 72 hours with his future still uncertain. After last week’s meeting with representatives of new owners The Suning Group, Mancini believed that the foundations had been put in place to begin to move forward and that a decision on his contract, which expires in 2017 had been taken.
MISSING THE FINAL OK
Since it was just the first meeting last Thursday, President Thohir and the coach wanted to define the base for a contract renewal before a meeting with Suning. Then it became apparent that the new owners were unable to meet with Mancini on Friday stating that they had other commitments to attend to. The 52-year-old tactician was expecting a definitive answer; instead, he was left in limbo once again. His relationship with Thohir is not idyllic and neither is it with CEO Michael Bolingbroke, who was not present at Thursday’s talks. Now it’s been made clear that Suning will not have a representive based in Milan, communication will not be easy and whilst the team has three days of rest, Mancini has many things to ponder.
