    Manchester United, Schmeichel believes that Payet should be on top of Mourinho's wish list

    Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel believes that West Ham's Dmitri Payet would be a fantastic addition for Mourinho's club. Payet had an impressive Euro 2016 and his hot form continued on this season as he has created numerous chances for his teammates. Unfortunately for him, West Ham are not having a good season as they are in the relegation zone (they do have a game in hand on most of their rivals). 

    According to the Sun, It seems like Payet will be available for only 15 million euros next summer if West Ham do get relegated (since he has a clause in his contract that says so). Schmeichel thinks that Mourinho's club should act quicker than that and get him in January (for a much higher fee) if possible. 

    Here is what he said to Soccer AM : “ Payet is certainly a United type player, I think that Mourinho has to change his tactics a little for the fans of this legendary club. Ibrahimovic isn't a typical Mourinho player but because of United's history and fan demands, they still got him and he has been doing very well. Payet? I surely think United should sign him ... “. 

    West Ham are reportidly ready to offer Payet a new contract extension but the club's struggles might affect Payet's final decision.
