Manchester City, Toure out in the cold. Guardiola "He returns to the team only after an apology"

On the day he announced his retirement from international football, Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure remains exiled at Manchester City. After the decision by his coach Pep Guardiola to leave him out of the Champions League squad this season, the player’s agent, Dmitri Seluk, launched an attack on the Catalan tactician stating that; “If Guardiola wins the Champions League this year I will go to England and say he’s the best coach in the world. On the other hand, I hope he has the attributes to admit his error of having humiliated a great player like Yaya Toure”.

From that day forward the relationship between player and coach has totally broken down, Guardiola has today, stated that; “It was difficult to decide to exclude him from the Champions League list but after the comments made by his agent, the club wants an apology”. The 33-year-old is out of contract next summer and was approached several times by Inter under the tutelage of Roberto Mancini. It remains to be seen if a January departure is possible.
