Manchester City: Guardiola wants Fernandinho renewal
Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho is coming to the end of his contract at The Etihad Stadium but The Mirror reports today that the coach Pep Guardiola is anxious for the 31-year-old to remain at the club beyond next summer.
Ahead of this afternoon’s trip to White Hart Lane to face Spurs, Guardiola sees the Brazilian as a key cog in his City machine who have won all their Premier League games so far this season and has asked the power brokers at the club to sanction the new deal.
The Catalan tactician stated that; ““What we have done this season would have been impossible without Fernandinho, if a team has three men like him, they would be the champions. We only have one, but he is fast, he is intelligent, he is strong in the air and he can play several positions. When Fernandinho sees the space he will run there immediately. When you need to make a correction, when you just need one to change, he is there.”
