    Luca Toni admits he can retire at the end of the season

    Talking to Sky Sport Italia after Verona’s home defeat against Empoli, former Italy International Luca Toni admitted that he could retire at the end of the season.

    “Perhaps it is time for me to retire from football. I hope to celebrate [the happening] at the end of the season helping Verona to survive in Serie A.”

    Toni, an Italy World Cup winner in 2006, will turn 39 on the 26th of May and was the last Serie A top scorer alongside Inter’s front-man Mauro Icardi with 22 goals.

    Toni worn the shirts of Brescia, Vicenza, Palermo, Fiorentina, Roma, Genoa and Juventus in Serie A, while he spent three seasons at Bayern Munich netting 58 goals in 89 games.
