Marcello Lippi: 'I want to coach in Italy again'

    • M.G.
Marcello Lippi wants to return to Serie A.

Currently the honorary president of Reset, an Italian youth academy, the former World Cup and Champions League winner sounds like he's bored by the prospect of coaching youngsters.

“I don’t like honorary degrees, they make me feel old," the 67-year-old told Sky.

"Since I began my career as a coach, I was never really interested in youth football. I want to be a real coach, to win a league”.

“In Italy, at every level, the quality is a little higher than elsewhere” Lippi added “the coaches are more skilled, and so are the players and the referees”.

Regarding his future, the 2006 World Cup winner said: “A return to coaching? Why not?! I don’t change opinion so easily, but I realized that I made a mistake. When I was in China, I thought I had a enough of football, but I was just missing my country”.
