Leonardo is one step away from the Brazil bench
According to ESPN Brasil the next coach of Brazil will be Leonardo. The former Milan coach has already reached an agreement with the Brazilian Football Federation president, Ricardo Teixeira, and it is 90%, according to the news also reported from the site of the newspaper "UOL", that he will be the successor to Carlos Dunga.
Leonardo would have won the competition by Luiz Felipe Scolari, world champion in 2002 with the Selecao, tied until December 2012 at Palmeiras. Teixeira wants a coach to take charge of the national team full-time, but Scolari could work next to Leonardo as technical coordinator. The president of CBF wants the next coach to also deal with the National Olympic team in view of London 2012 and also with youth selections.
Among the other strong candidates is Mano Menezes coach to the Corinthians. "They are just rumours, I am proud that my name is linked to that of the National, it means that I worked well", said Menezes. Muricy Ramalho (Fluminense) and Vanderlei Luxemburgo (Atletico-MG) are other names.
The new coach will be anounced in late July, but according to ESPN Brasil Leonardo is the big favourite.
