Leonardo: "I'm not the right man for Inter"

Former Inter coach Leonardo has ruled himself out of contention to return the club to replace Frank de Boer. Speaking to Sky Sport, the former Brazilian international explained that; “Maybe my name was mentioned because of the things I achieved in the past. I am a coach and a technical director so my profile is not ideal for Inter at this time”.

He continued; “At the same time, the situation they are currently experiencing is not right for me. They need to restructure the club with the people who are already there”. He ended by stating that; “I did have a great rapport with (former President) Massimo Moratti”.

Many names have been linked to the vacancy left by the Dutchman on Tuesday with the new owners Suning believed to be anxious to make the new appointment with someone who is familiar with Serie A. The man in pole-position at present is former Lazio coach Stefano Pioli.
