Leaving AS Roma for Liverpool was a mistake – Borini

Former AS Roma winger Fabio Borini told gianlucadimarzio.com that leaving the Giallorossi to join Liverpool back in 2012 was a mistake.

“That transfer was negative for me”, Borini told the Italian journalist.

“That wasn’t the right choice for me, I expected Rodgers to give me more playing time.”

The 24-year-old Sunderland striker, however, does not regret leaving his native country.

“I am doing well in England now. That’s the right league for me. There is less violence [compared to Italy], more happiness and intensity.”

“Here I can work in the right way, I am more calm and relaxed.”

Borini, a product of Bologna and Chelsea academy, has scored three goals and registered one assists in 18 games this term.
