Nikola Kalinic move at Fiorentina has been underestimated by many, both journalists and Viola supporters, despite the Croatia international netted 49 goals in 124 appearances during his four years spell at Dnipro.

Talking to the Croatian media novosti.hr  about Fiorentina’s target, the Viola hitman didn’t stick his head in the sand: “We hope to win Serie A this year”, the 27 year old told the press.

Kalinic, who has also netted in the last Europe League final, joined  the Artemio Franchi in the summer transfer  window, following a € 5.5 million deal from Ukraine side Dnipro.

His stunning San Siro hat-trick at the expenses of Inter not as long as two weeks ago,  helped Fiorentina to pull aside the Nerazzurri on top of the Serie A table.

Following their Fiorentina blow, Mancini’s men struggled to produce a strong comeback, failing to find victory also against Sampdoria, while Paulo Sousa’s side smashed Atalanta for 3-0 at the Artemio Franchi, becoming the sole table leaders.

Fiorentina are reported to be targeting a defender for the January transfer window. Benfica’s Lisandro Lopez and Milan’s Philippe Mexes have been both shortlisted by Sportive Director Daniele Pradé to join the Artemio Franchi within a few months.

As far as the midfield is concerned, the Tuscan side have still their eyes on Gremio’s Wallace, as it has been reported by the Brazilian press.

Will they help Kalinic to fight for a  Serie A title with Fiorentina?
