The American Dream has turned into a nightmare for Brazilian legend Kakà. For the second season running, his Orlando team has failed to make the MLS play-offs, which was the minimum requirement at the start of the campaign.
 

The number 22, who was idolised during his time with Milan, has scored 18 goals in 52 appearances but this has not been sufficient to drag his team into the end of season elimination phase. It’s even more disappointing when you consider the talent at the club’s disposal, players like Antonio Nocerino, Julio Baptista, Kevin Molino and Cyle Larin, a player linked with a move to Lazio last summer. After so much pre-season optimism there will now be a short time for reflection before in all probability, a major overhaul of the squad and a time for reflection ahead of next season’s campaign. Whether Kakà will be part of the club’s future, only time will tell.
