Juventus want to sign Chelsea outcast Ivanovic, but there's a problem
Juventus are interested in signing Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic again, according to sources.
Finding himself frozen out at Stamford Bridge, the Serb’s expiring deal has attracted a number of clubs, including Inter and Juventus, with the Daily Mirror recently speculating that the 32-year-old had signed a pre-contract agreement with the Nerazzurri.
Speaking on Italian TV Channel SportItalia (via TuttoJuve), transfer pundit Alfredo Pedulla claims, however, that there’s a major roadblock at Chelsea that’ll prevent Ivanovic’s transfer: Antonio Conte.
“Daniel Alves has yet to perform to expectations. Juventus are preparing to act in the transfer window”, Pedulla’ confirmed.
“There is no doubt that he is appreciated by the Bianconeri because his deal is expiring, but there is no margin for manoeuvre with Antonio Conte”.
Whether the former Juventus Coach wants to keep Ivanovic or simply refuses to sell to his former club - which he didn’t quit amicably - we can only guess, but one thing is certain: “Juventus will seek out other options”, according to Pedulla’.
