Juventus waiting for Mascherano’s final decision: latest updates
Juventus still hope to sign the player, though Barcelona don’t want to see the Jefecito departing from the Nou Camp. We’ve already reported that the Blaugrana sporting director Roberto Fernandez travelled to the USA a couple of weeks ago trying to persuade the Argentinean star to extend his stay at the club.
Mascherano is not looking for more money, but for a different treatment by his club. First of all, he doesn’t want to play centre-back anymore. His favourite position on the pitch is centre midfielder and that’s where he wants to play.
In addition, both him and Messi have gone through the same problems with Spain’s tax office, but the talented winger was much more safeguarded by the club than what he was, leaving Mascherano very disappointed.
Juventus are on very good terms with Mascherano’s agents Pini Zahavi and Kia Joorabachian who were allowed to bring Tevez back to Boca Juniors for free last summer.
If Mascherano will ask to leave the club, Barcelona would slap € 30 million price-tag on him, though Juventus’ final offer might not exceed € 20 million and good relations with the player’s entourage might help the Old Lady should Mascherano decide to leave the Nou Camp.
