Juventus transfer update: Allegri calls Pjanic, Marotta wants Kovacic
According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport, the club’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta is pondering buying Real Madrid wantaway Mateo Kovacic. The former Inter starlet joined the Santiago Bernabeu for a fee of € 35 million from Inter last summer, but has been struggling with playing time this term and is not on good terms with manager Zinedine Zidane. Kovacic could replace Claudio Marchisio as the team’s playmaker at the beginning of next season when the Italy International will be still recovering from a knee injury. Juve could seal his transfer for a fair price in the summer.
However, it seems that Massimiliano Allegri has other projects for the bianconeri midfield, if rumours coming from La Gazzetta dello Sport are to be believed. La rosea reports this morning that the Old Lady’s boss has called the Bosnia and Herzegovina International Miralem Pjanic asking him to join Juventus next season. Juventus’ could trigger the player’s € 38 million release clause and will probably make an official bid once that Morata will be sent back to Madrid, though Pjanic is rumoured to be happy in Rome and not willing to change club in the summer.
