    Juventus top Champions’ League prize money table

    Juventus is the club that had more incomes from the last Champions’ League campaign. The Bianconeri side cashed in the astonishing amount of € 89 million.

    UEFA raffled 988 millions to be shared between the teams that took part to the last edition of the Champions’ League. As the Gazzetta dello Sport reveal each club cashed in € 8.6 million just to take part to the group stages, while a victory was worth  one million euro and each draw paid out € 500.000.

    From the knock-out stage, each team could benefit from a growing prize money. € 3.5 million was the amount due to the clubs that reached the last-sixteen stage, € 3.9 million were deposited to the best eight teams. The four semi-finalists received a  € 4.9 million prize money, while the best two teams cashed in € 6.5 million each, plus a € 4 million bonus for the club that lifted the cup.

    In addition to these incomes, the Turin club could also benefit from of an astonishing € 58.2 million from the TV rights.

    The Italian teams that took part to the last Champions' League campaign had a fixed quota of € 93.5 million. This amout was supposed to be shared between each the teams, depending on how far they would have gone in the tournament. Roma were eliminated after the group stage, so the Giallorossi could "only" cash in € 35.3 million from the TV rights, while the remaining part have strengthened the Bianconeri’s finances.   

    After overcoming Real Madrid in the semi-finals, only the supremacy of La Liga giants Barcelona has prevented the Bianconeri from lifting the third Champions League in their history. Despite having reached the same stage and winning the cup, Barcelona registered half of the incomes than Juventus last term.
