Juventus to meet Zenit next week over Witsel’s transfer
The Old Lady’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta and the club’s DS Fabio Paratici will make contact with the Russian club next week, trying to persuade them to sell the talented Belgian midfielder in the January transfer window.
As widely known, Witsel’s contract with Zenit expires in June 2017 and the player is not going to extend his stay at the club signing a new contract, which means he can join any other club for free once the current season ends.
Trouble is, Zenit seem not intentioned to accept Juventus’ € 6 million offer. The Old Lady is not going to add a penny to their last bid as they have already reached economic agreement with the player last summer, when his move to the J Stadium collapsed in the deadline day.
The 26-year-old midfielder has already announced that he’s going to play for Juventus in the future, though he still doesn’t know if he will arrive in January or June.
