Juventus target reportedly very close to completing Man City switch in January

According to Portuguese news outlet O Jogo, Juventus target Grimaldo is very close to moving to Manchester City in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old  left-back is under contract with Benfica until 2021 and has a release clause of € 60 million included in his contract with the Portuguese club.

According to the report, however, Pep Guardiola has managed to nab the U-21 Spain International for € 45 million with the two clubs that are pretty close to finding agreement for the versatile defender’s January switch.
Juventus are not open to match Manchester City’s offer and are set to retire from the race for the promising defender who has already tested himself at senior level despite his young age.

Grimaldo has two goals and four assists in 13 games in all competitions so far this season and can also play as attacking left winger.

The product of Barcelona academy switched the Nou Camp with the Estadio Da Luz for € 1.5 million in January 2015. If the report of O Jogo will be confirmed, Grimaldo is going to become the second January signing of Manchester City in January as Brazilian starlet Gabirel Jesus is also set to join the Etihad Stadium hierarchy in the incoming transfer window.
