Juventus: Premier League interest in Mandzukic

Reports in The Sun claim that Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is wanted by Premier League strugglers West Ham United. The 30-year-old Croatian frontman was on target last night in Juve’s 3-1 away win in Seville which assured them a place in the last 16 of the Champions League. With his future in Turin still uncertain however, the journal believes that his next destination could be the Premier League.

Mandzukic has been frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities this season, despite coach Massimo Allegri stating that he is an important part of the team and that his chance will come as the Tuscan tactician continues to rotate his squad. Hammers boss Slaven Bilic worked with the big striker when he was in charge of the Croatian national team and sees him as the ideal replacement for Italian frontman Simone Zaza, who has yet to get off the mark for the East London club and is likely to be jettisoned in the January window.

Mandzukic has two and a half years on his current deal at Juventus and his current market value is reported to be €18 million.
