Juventus news: Allegri to start Mandzukic and Higuain against Palermo

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is set to start Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain in tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Palermo.

The Croatian striker started last week’s Inter clash in place of the Argentinean sparking controversies among Juventus fans who wanted to see their most expensive signing of the summer on the pitch in one of the most important game of the season.

Mandzukic also came off the bench in the 81st minute of Wednesday’s Juventus-Cagliari to replace the former Napoli ace.

Allegri’s decision confirms that he doesn’t consider Marko Pjaca as the natural replacement of Paulo Dybala who will sit on the bench for the first time this season against his old club Palermo.

Allegri considers Pjaca a wide player rather than a support striker and could play him when he’ll switch Juventus to a 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-3 system.

The Italian tactician had already opted to start Higuain and Mandzukic in a summer friendly game against Espanyol. Juventus snatched a 2-2 draw in that game which also saw Paulo Dybala entering the pitch to play alongside the other two centre forwards.

Allegri will now start both Mandzukic and Higuain for the first time in an official game.
