Juventus: Neto wants January exit, claims agent
The Old Lady’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta had claimed earlier this week that the club is already looking for a long-term replacement of 39-year-old goalie Gianluigi Buffon and Marotta’s statements have understandably left the Brazilian shotstopper unhappy.
“That’s not what we agreed with Juventus. They [Juventus] indicated a specific path, but if that’s what they think, we’ll have to find a different solution.”
“Neto wanted to join a club that could give him game time last summer, but the club asked him to stay as a back-up of Buffon. My client was happy to stay and help the team, but he has different objectives now also with Brazil national team and I think that the time has come to find a different club.”
“He would not be happy to leave the club, because Juventus are a top club. That’s why we want to sit around the negotiations table to clarify everything. Juventus can’t play with the career of a player that the whole Europe wanted. He wants to be a number one for the rest of his career.”
