Juventus motivated by criticisms says Allegri

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri held a pre-match press conference on Saturday evening, on the eve of away Serie A clash to Chievo Verona. With Juventus hit by criticisms after their 1-1 draw against Lyon in Champions League earlier this week, Allegri claimed that his side is being motivated by bad press.

“We can still improve, but we are the team that has changed the most starters compared to last season. Higuain, Pjanic and Dani Alves are different from their predecessors.”

“Winning games is all that matters, last year they said we were not good enough because we didn’t manage to win many games at the beginning of the season, this year we are having good results. After all, it’s always the same story in every campaign. The decisive part of the season begins in March.”

“Winning the league is not easy at all, the 50% is not enough, we have to do our best in each game, winning ugly games too. I am sure we’ll make it through the Champions League group stage, then we’ll see what happens in March. We are motivated by criticisms.”

“At this time of the year one year ago nobody would have thought that we’d manage to play two even games with Bayern Munich. We want to play in a good style, regardless the formation.”

“We are focused on Chievo now, a tough game against a motivated team. They run a lot and we’ll have to run as much as they do. After the break we’ll focus on the Champions League, the Supercup and the new year.”
