Juventus: could the future of Neto be in the Premier League?

After comments by his agent last week stating that his future may not lie in Italy with Juventus, reports in today’s Liverpool Echo suggest that Brazilian goalkeeper Neto may have a future in the Premier League at Everton.

New toffees boss Ronald Koeman already expressed his interest in the 27-year-old in the summer before his refusal led to the Dutchman eventually moving in for fellow countryman and former Roma number one Martin Stekelenburg.

The journal claims that Koeman wants to have two high-profile keepers at the club with the intention or rotating them on a regular basis. It’s now possible that the Merseyside club will make another assault in January to try to persuade the player to make the switch to England.

Neto has made just three appearances in Turin since his arrival in 2015 and has been unhappy at the amount of first-team action afforded to him by coach Massimo Allegri. Initially being brought in as understudy to Gianluigi Buffon, the Brazilian is anxious to get more playing time which looks increasingly unlikely at the Serie A champions.
