Juventus could sign a striker in January to make up for injury crisis

Juventus’ current injury situation has left their attack looking threadbare.

According to our sources, this could push the Bianconeri to buy another striker in the January transfer window.

Tonight’s trip to Sevilla sees the Turinese side be reduced to just one starting striker, Mario Mandzukic, Beyond that, the Old Lady has lost Paulo Dybala and Marko Pjaca for a few weeks, while Gonzalo Higuain will also skip the game against the Rojiblancos.

The Argentine was, in fact, hit in the same spot in which he took a hit on international duty. Quite why he was employed against a team as weak as Pescara is beyond many of us.

This string of knocks has put the Bianconeri’s strategy of rolling into this season with only three established strikers, plus a youngsters in Pjaca. Though their sicklist should clear by January, the fear is that it will fill up again by January… when Juventus would be mounting another Champions League challenge.

Things aren’t brilliant in defence, either, with Andrea Barzagli returning only in January, Mehdi Benatia nursing a right knee injury and Giorgio Chiellini set to start against Sevilla… from the bench!
