Right-back urgently wanted. Immediate start. No timewasters please.

Following news that Stefan Lichtsteiner could be out for anything between one and six months, and with Martin Caceres still hurt, Juventus have stepped up their search for a full-back, and are even considering an interesting Premier League target.

According to a report from Tuttosport, Juventus’ number one objective is Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta. The 30-year-old is a long-shot, but not completely out of reach. The former Espanyol defender still has two years left on his contract, but could look favourably upon a three-year contract.

Otherwise, a raft of names closer to home have been dropped, including Silvan Widmer of Udiese and Šime Vrsaljko of Sassuolo. The 23-year-old Croatian looks like the most realistic option, as he plays for a club owned by Giorgio Squinzi, who is on good terms with Juventus. Trouble is, his impressive performances have pushed his price upwards, and it would reportedly take a hefty €15 million to take him off the Neroverdi’s books.
