Juventus, Allegri: ‘Lyon clash more important than Napoli’
“Tomorrow’s game is not decisive. Direct meetings in the girone d’andata are never decisive. One year ago we were losing to Sassuolo, things are different now. Leagues winners come out in March. Tomorrow’s game is important, but not as important as the Wednesday one against Lyon, when we’ll have to secure the qualification to the next stage of the Champions League.”
“Without a classic centre forward, we could have less reference points, it will be hard for us. I know Sarri very well, I know him since that famous game against Sangiovannese (Italy’s third division, Allegri was the coach of Rondinella, Sarri was in charge of Sangiovannese).”
“I didn’t see Higuain yesterday; he was training with those who had played on Wednesday. It’ll be a special game for him. A manager has two choices: the first one is not playing him, the second one is playing him remaining quiet before the game.”
“I don’t think he’s a traitor. He took a decision as a pro. He’s in love with the city of Naples, we talk about it once in a while. He has already scored seven goals and the team has to work hard to make him score even more. It is not vital, however, to see him scoring in each game.”
“Lichtsteiner is fit and could play. I’ll talk to Marchisio, he’s going to start if he feels ok, otherwise he will start on Wednesday. I still prefer playing three midfielders, not two.”
“We have to improve in terms of quality, but what really matters is to win the league. We have plenty of work to do. We played very well against Sevilla, creating six-seven goal chances and without conceding one single shot on our target. We played badly with Inter and a bit better against AC Milan, we can still improve.”
