Juve, Witsel in January. Here's the plan
In an interview with Radio Rai yesterday, Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed that Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel would remain a priority target for January. The 27-year-old looked set to arrive in Turin in the summer but his current club, Zenit St Petersburg, refused to allow him to leave before they had a replacement in the squad.
THE PLAN:
In this morning’s edition of Tuttosport, details regarding the offer have been announced and it’s the bianconeri’s intention to offer the Russian side €5-6 million for their player, who will be out of contract in the summer. It won’t be easy to convince the club of Lucescu however and plan B is reported to be to tie the player down to a four-year-deal in February, with the contract to commence from next June.
TWO MORE HITS:
It’s not only Witsel on the radar in Turin, Juve are already planning for next summer with both PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi and Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi, both wanted at the J Stadium.
