Juve, Witsel: 'I don't know if I will be leaving Zenit in January, it is not up to me'
Axel Wistel was very close to joining Serie A champions Juventus last summer as he was waiting in Turin for a move to be finalized between both clubs. In the end, no agreement was found in time and Witsel had to fly back to Russia. Here is what he had to say concerning his future in an interview with TASS: “For now I am here and I am a Zenit player. I don't know if I will be leaving in January since it is not up to me. Zenit will decide what to do. This past summer I was close to joining Juve but then coach Lucescu did not allow my transfer. It wasn't fun but then once I returned to Zenit things fell back into place“. Witsel remains to be a Juve target but it still isn't known if Zenit will let him leave right away. According to past reports, they will first try to renew his contract with their club.
