Juve: the six names for right-back

Juan Cuadrado will leave Juventus and return to Chelsea to re-unite with his former mentor Antonio Conte. The bianconeri will now move on the transfer market to replace him and here are the six primary candidates.

    1. DE SCIGLIO, THE CHOICE OF ALLEGRI – As part of his new contract agreement, coach Massimo Allegri has stated that he wants more of an input into player signings. This has already been in evidence in his desire to bring Mattia De Sciglio to Turin. He knows the player well having him at Milan when he was a youngster

    2. VRSALJKO FOR PARATICI – Sporting Director Fabio Paratici is pushing for Sassuolo’s Sime Vrsalijko. The Croatian has been one of the best full-backs in Serie A this season and his arrival in Turin could help strengthen ties with neroverdi patron Squinzi.

    3. HYPOTHETICALLY DARMIAN – Jose Mourinho’s proposed arrival at Manchester United could see a revolution at Old Trafford. Among the players whose future is in the balance is Matteo Darmian who despite impressing many observers, could be jettisoned this summer.

    4. DANILO WITH MORATA – a player like Danilo who is surplus to requirements at Real Madrid could also make a useful addition to the champions. He could also be made part of the deal that takes Alvaro Morata back to the Spanish capital.

    5. VAN DER WIEL THANKS TO RAIOLA – During talks about Paul Pogba, super-agent Mino Raiola has suggested another of his clients, Gregory van der Wiel whose contract expires at PSG this summer. He has the right profile, especially for the costs involved but any further negotiations still seem a long way off.

    6. WIDMER FROM UDINESE – After Asamoah and Pereyra, Juventus could finally complete a new purchase in synergy with Udinese in the shape of Silvan Widmer. The relationship between the two clubs is excellent and DG Beppe Marotta has a large pool of players he could send to the Dacia Arena.
