Juve: Schmelzer farther. Inter: Jovetic wants to join
As outlined by calciomercato.com, despite the recovery of 34-year-old Andrea Barzagli and the signing of 20-year-old Daniele Rugani, Juventus keep on seeking a center back: the former World Champion, in fact, is no longer considered a first choice, while the Italy Under 21 international will probably be loaned to a club where he will have the chance to play regularly: the bianconeri have a concrete chance for 23-year-old Fabian Schar, whose contract with FC Basel will expire at the end of the current season, even though many other clubs are interested in the Switzerland international; another option is River Plate 21-year-old Eder Balanta, but in this case the Serie A defending champions will have to compete with AS Roma. The Piedmont’s club is also seeking a left back, and one of their targets for such position seemed to be Borussia Dortmund 27-year-old Marcel Schmelzer, but –interviewed by gazzetta.it- Gianluca Di Domenico, agent of the Germany international, has denied any contacts with Juve and has declared that his client will probably remain at his current club. Inter Milan keep on seeking a new forward, and, as reported by gianlucadimarzio.com, their coach Roberto Mancini has convinced Manchester City 25-year-old Stevan Jovetic to join the nerazzurri: now the two clubs will have to start a negotiation.
