Juve, now it's time to work on Hernanes
When Adidas carried out their ad campaign for the new 2016-17 Juventus home shirt could not have believed that the trio used to display the new kit, would be the three main departures of the summer…well, almost.
TWO GOODBYES
With Alvaro Morata now back in Madrid and Paul Pogba about to complete a deal back to Manchester United, the third player on the ad campaign, Brazilian midfielder Hernanes is now also set to leave Turin.
HERNANES FAREWELL?
The 31-year-old has already received offers from the UAE and China and refused both of them. On top of this, interest from Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen has also been dismissed but a recent proposal from Besiktas may be more hopeful.
JUVE READY TO SELL
Juve coach Massimo Allegri has been using the player in pre-season but his performances have been disappointing just like last season, when many opportunities were wasted. Executives in Turin have not been convinced by the man who arrived from Inter for €11 million. It’s believed that the Old Lady would be willing to let Hernanes depart for a fee of around €7/8 million which although would result in a loss, would not be too drastic to absorb. The player has a contract until 2018 earning around €3.7 million net per season. If potential suitors are not prepared to match this figure; it’s going to be difficult to send Hernanes to pastures new before the start of the new campaign.
