Juve make it 12 wins in a row with swashbuckling Pogba in N.10 role
Allegri replaced injured Mario Mandzukic with former Real Madrid hopeful Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard scored his fourth goal in the last five days as he had also plundered a brace against Inter in Coppa Italia earlier on Wednesday.
The Italian tactician, who has also been linked with Chelsea job recently, has deployed 22 players in the first six games of 2016. A part from Mario Mandzukic, who was not available at all for the Chievo game, the likes of Simone Zaza, Juan Cuadrado, Daniele Rugani, Giorgio Chiellini and Patrice Evra started from the bench at the Bentegodi
They would probably be regular starters everywhere else in Serie A.
Paul Pogba has played quite an important role in Juventus’ renaissance. The 22-year-old midfielder has been stepping up over the last couple of months after that he had struggled to cope with pressure at the beginning of the current campaign.
The Frenchman was involved in six of Juventus’ last 13 goals, netting three times and registering as much assists in five games.
The lack of intensity shown at the beginning of the season has finally disappeared and the number 10 printed on the back of his black-and-white jersey is not a matter worry anymore. Pogba produced a classic no.10 display against Chievo as Massimiliano Allegri played him close to Paulo Dybala as offensive midfielder.
He scored one goal, registered one assist and shot five times on target (9 total) . Pogba had the 89% of passes right and won the 67% of tackles.
With Giuseppe Marotta who has been failing to bring to the Stadium the likes of Mario Goetze, Julian Draxler and Isco since last summer, Massimiliano Allegri might have found the perfect trequartista in Paul Pogba.
