Juve: Ilicic in, Quaglia out?
Juventus are leading Serie A, but general director Beppe Marotta is still looking to strengthen the Bianconeri squad in the January transfer window. According to Italian reports, the Bianconeri could make a move for Palermo ace Josip Ilicic while allowing Fabio Quagliarella to leave Turin.
Ilicic was linked to the Old Lady in the summer but his so far disappointing start to the season has reduced his market value. Quagliarella instead doesn’t seem to be a first choice for Antonio Conte and given his hefty wage could be shortly offloaded by the Bianconeri. However, both players’ agents denied any transfer rumours.
“I don’t know anything about my client and Juventus,” said Ilicic’s agent, Amir Ruznic. “Actually, I am getting quite annoyed with all these rumours linking my client to another club. I also heard rumours about Chelsea and Tottenham, but for January I can exclude that Josip will leave Palermo. I spoke with the Rosanero directors in the past few days and they didn’t tell anything about this. Maybe in June it will be different…”
“We received many offers for Fabio, but I turned down all of them,” claimed Quagliarella’s agent, Beppe Bozzo. “There are many clubs after him but his future is at Juventus because the club strongly believes in him.”
