Juve, no more experiments on the bench: loyalty is the key
A loyal coach or a fly by night coach?Juventus have chosen the former with Antonio Conte. Given that in a world of professionals it is right and comprehensible that a coach can change bench whenever he likes, it is also true that some of them linked their career (and heart) to a specific club.
Let's take Walter Mazzarri, for example: when he was a footballer he played with 11 clubs in 15 years. As a coach, 6 clubs in 10 years. He comes, does well (almost always), achieves the targets and goes, like is 'enemy' José Mourinho.
Instead, Antonio Conte played with only two clubs in 19 years and coached 4 clubs in 5 years with a specific target he set in 2008: "If I will not coach Juventus in three years, I quit".
Juventus have changed lots of coaches in the last few years (7 in 6 years to be precise) and now they want to appoint a loyal coach (from 1976 till 2006, they only had 7 coaches, from Trapattoni to Capello).
The choice of Conte goes in the direction of wanting to find continuity. If something will go wrong next season, Conte will stay the next, unlike Ferrara and Del Neri. It is for this reason that Conte will sign a 3-year contract.
